Our digital sewing patterns (PDF) are designed for perfect fit and ease of use. All ERGOMODELS sewing patterns help you cut and assemble your garment quickly and professionally.
1. Choosing the Size and Height Group
- Select your size according to bust measurement, also considering waist and hips.
- Choose the appropriate height group.
- If in doubt, select the larger size.
- See the full size and height charts.
2. Fabric Stretch Percentage
- All patterns are designed considering fabric elasticity (from 0% up to 20% and more).
- The percentage of elasticity is indicated in the pattern technical sheet.
- Learn how to measure fabric elasticity in the video guide.
Important:
- If the chosen fabric differs in stretch, use a neighboring size.
Example:
- Your size: 46 (M) with fabric stretch 10%.
- With less elasticity (0–5%) → use 48 (L).
- With more elasticity (15%) → use 44 (S).
- With 20% or more elasticity → use 42 (XS).
3. Pattern Details
- All patterns include seam allowances, shown with solid lines.
- Example of layout is in the technical sheet.
- Each pattern piece indicates:
-
- Name of the piece
- Code
- Type of fabric (main, interfacing, lining)
- Number of pieces to cut
- The arrow shows the grainline direction and the lower edge.
Additional marks include:
- Gathering allowance
- Depth and direction of pleats
- Placement of closures (buttons, zippers, snaps, etc.)
- Bias edges requiring stay tape
- Pocket placement and small details
- Labels are in English. A technical dictionary is available in Greek and Russian
4. Cutting Instructions
- Cut paired pieces with fabric right sides together.
- Large pieces (bodice front, back) may be provided in half with the note FOLD.
-
For “open layout” cutting:
- print the pattern twice,
- mirror the paired pieces,
- tape halves together for whole pieces.
5. Assembling the Pieces
- Matching edges are marked with the same letters and numbers.
- Notches are placed to ensure precise alignment.
6. Before Cutting the Fabric
- Check the pattern against your measurements at bust, waist, and hips (use notches).
- Compare widths excluding seam allowances.
- Small adjustments can be made at side seams.
- Cut fabric as precisely as possible (to the millimeter).
- Always align the grainline with the indicated arrow.
- Interfacings must follow the same grain direction.
- To avoid deformation of small details, fuse interfacing first, then cut.
- For bias edges, use stay tape if indicated.
